Redwoods. Crater Lake. Seattle.
Each one was someone’s dream in our family.
I’d always wanted to see the Redwoods, really see them. Not just a tourist stop, but the quiet, overwhelming kind of seeing. The kind that reminds you how small we are.
My husband had Crater Lake on his list. The deepest lake in the U.S., carved out of a collapsed volcano, he had read about it, bookmarked it, saved photos for years.
My son? Seattle. Because his favorite game, My Singing Monsters, was created there. And there was also a dear family friend we hadn’t seen in over a decade.
So this June, we finally said: Let’s go.
Nine days. Over 3,000 km (~2,500 miles) of open road. From LA, up the California coast, through Oregon, into Washington, and back.
And somewhere between long stretches of pine trees, vintage pizza shops in Portland, and a snowy mountaintop in Oregon where I was still replying to emails at 7AM
I realized something:
So many brand goals are just like this trip.
They sit quietly in the back of our minds.
Waiting. Hoping.
For a better time. For less chaos. For more clarity.
But the truth? They don’t happen until you decide to make them happen.
We had talked about this trip for years.
But it always felt too complicated.
Too long. Too far. Too much work.
We’d say “maybe next year” every year.
That’s how most people talk about their brand too.
They say:
- “I’ve been meaning to rebrand for a while now.”
- “We outgrew our visual identity, but I’m too busy to deal with it.”
- “I know our offer needs clarity… we’ll fix it eventually.”
And then they keep running their business.
And their brand? Stays stuck on the “someday” list.
Just like we did with this road trip.
Here’s what finally made it possible
1. We aligned the vision.
The Redwoods were my dream. Crater Lake was my husband’s. Seattle was for the kids.
We mapped a route that gave space for all of it.
→ Your brand needs this too. You have to align what you want, what your audience needs, and what your business can actually support.
2. We had support.
My parents joined us. They love travel. They helped with the kids, shared stories, and reminded me to rest.
→ You don’t need to build your brand alone. Get help. Ask someone to guide you. Bring in people who make the load feel lighter.
3. We made peace with not doing it all.
I really wanted to visit Mount Rainier. But we ran out of time.
→ You don’t need to do everything in one go, just the right things. Maybe your brand doesn’t need a full rebrand. Maybe it needs a new offer or a refreshed deck. Start where you are.
4. We gave it a deadline.
June or never. We booked the hotels. Put it on the calendar.
→ Your brand needs a timeline too. When there’s a date, there’s momentum. When there’s momentum, things move.
The most magical stop? The Redwoods.
We reached Avenue of the Giants on Day 4. I stepped out of the car, looked up, and just stood there.
The trees were ancient. Tall beyond comprehension. Silent, but so alive.
And suddenly I felt… small. In the best way.
The world didn’t need me to hustle right then. It didn’t care how many unread emails I had.
It just wanted me to stand still and notice.
I think branding, real branding, should feel like that.
Not loud. Not performative. Not trying to keep up with a trend.
But something so rooted, so clear, so true, it speaks without trying.
That’s what we help our clients build.
And yes, we got exhausted too.
By day 8, my son was saying he missed home.
I was too tired to open my laptop. I couldn’t wait to cook a simple meal in my own kitchen.
But even in that fatigue, I felt fulfilled.
Because we did it.
Not perfectly. Not all at once. But we made it happen.
And I think your brand deserves the same.
You don’t need to wait for the perfect time.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You just need to decide: It’s time.
We help women-led brands move from “someday” to “right now.”
Not with pressure. Not with overwhelm.
But with a clear roadmap, creative clarity, and support you can actually rely on.
If your brand’s been sitting in the back of your mind for months (or years), let’s talk.
Let’s map it out. Step by step.
